Treatment of acute injuries and chronic pain (long term pain). Assessment and treatment of these will be based on what is best for the patient at the time.
Rehab exercises are tailored to the patient. That is, they are meaningful specific, achievable, and suit the patient and their injury. Prescription of rehabilitative exercises are also dynamic as the patient improves and recovers.
Hands on manual therapy is a key component to recovery from pain and injury. Finding the driver of dysfunction enables me to implement effective and efficient manual therapy techniques to get the best outcome for the patient. This may involve soft tissue release, active release techniques (ART), sustained joint mobilisations, high velocity joint manipulations, mobilisation with movement (Mulligan's), and fascial release
Integrated dry needling is a comfortable and effective use of acupuncture needles. It usually involves treating whole movement chains to assist the nervous system in recalibrating and restoring optimal movement. Through this method trigger points are released by releasing the area of dysfunction. This is not a trigger point style of needling. It is far more comfortable and effective. Please note, the use of acupuncture needles is at the discretion of the patient.
Visceral therapy is a hands on approach to treating restrictions that may be present in the vast and complex fascial network that suspends the organs within the body. There are many reasons why restrictions in this system may occur. The treatment of these can be a missing component to freedom of movement.
Dr William Garner Sutherland discovered the inherent movement of the nervous system that exists in all human beings. This system can be palpated and treated. Pain and recovery from injury will be hampered if this is the dominant driver of dysfunction. This is a specific hands on approach to treating the nervous system in it's entirety.
